Sharing the Gold

When I am working with classes remotely via Google Meet I use Current Screens on Hāpara Highlights as my 'look over the shoulder' moment.

I have Current Screens open all the time and I will show what different learners are doing by clicking on individual learners.

I find this allows me to share the gold of the great things learners are doing. When we are setting up or working on a process or tool I can see if someone is struggling or needs some specific direction and can support them.

This works well as an alternative to roving the room and seeing what learners are doing. Of course, the classroom teacher is doing just that.

Seeing into a Class

When I am working with teachers and learners online I join them via a Google Meet and I usually share my screen which is a second desktop.

When I do this I often pin the image of the classroom and unpin my shared screen. That way I can better see what is happening in the class space.

Below is a Chromebook class and an iPad class.
